Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain BI solutions (dashboards, reports, ETL pipelines).
  • Analyze user behavior, platform performance, and business metrics to identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product/engineering teams to define data requirements and KPIs.
  • Transform raw data into clear visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Conduct analyses to support strategic decisions (e.g., user engagement, feature ROI).
  • Ensure data accuracy and governance across reporting systems.
  • Communicate insights to stakeholders in both Mandarin and English through compelling storytelling.
  • Optimize data workflows and advocate for best practices in BI.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • No prior professional work experience required.
  • Familiarity with SQL and cloud data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
  • Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data modeling.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into business recommendations.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods (e.g., regression, cohort analysis).
  • Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and English (cross-team collaboration essential).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, or machine learning concepts.

Wage Level Justification

This posting is classified using the worksheet method from the DOL's 2009 Prevailing Wage Determination Policy Guidance (see Wage Level Determination). Baseline occupation: Business Intelligence Analysts (O*NET-SOC 15-2051.01), Job Zone 4 — experience range over 2 years up to and including 4 years; usual education: Bachelor's degree.

Compared with the Level I posting, the only added minimum requirement is Mandarin-English bilingual communication. Under Step 4, a language requirement other than English is generally treated as a special skill for all occupations — the guidance's own example scores a customer service position requiring Chinese-English bilingual skills at +1.
